Wednesday night saw the Student Government Association convene for a short agenda of only two major items.

MEISA brought forth their proposal to fund the annual Greggfest Music Festival in honor of the late Jake Gregg, an MBI student and Suncooked band member who died last year after a two-year battle with Leukemia. Proceeds from Greggfest will go towards the creation of a scholarship fund to support future MBI students.

MEISA’s original proposal called for an SGA contribution of more than $4,500, but after a discussion, the representative’s voted to allocate $5,000 towards the festival.

The speakers from MEISA thanked the SGA for their contribution.

Next on the agenda, the Lyndon State Track and Field Club sought reinstatement.

The club was active two years ago, making appearances at a number of meets throughout New England, but was disbanded after multiple missed SGA meetings.

The Track and Field Club was reinstated after discussion.
