Summer for Lyndon State College started off with a scare.
On June 14 at around 3:30 p.m. Lyndon State students received an email notifying them of an evolving bomb threat.
The threat was sent by an anonymous emailer to Admissions and Student Services at approximately 1:45 p.m that same day.
LSC Public Safety did an immediate visual search of campus and contacted the Vermont State Police (VSP) to see if they could verify the threat. The initial visual search turned up nothing and the campus was deemed safe while the VSP continued to investigate the origin and legitimacy of the threat.
A short time after the first email was sent out to students, a second email was sent out to try and identify a suspicious person. The person was later identified.
While the threat was being investigated the campus remained open and everything continued on as scheduled.
