A new president for Lyndon State College has been announced.

VSC Chancellor Jeb Spaulding announced that the Interim President will be Nolan Atkins. Atkins is currently the Interim Academic Dean.

This after Lyndon’s soon to be former president Joe Bertolino announced that he will be leaving LSC.

In the email Spaulding wrote, “Dr. Atkins’ longstanding commitment to Lyndon, demonstrated leadership skills, impeccable integrity, and close work with President Bertolino over the past eighteen months as Interim Academic Dean make him the clear choice to provide leadership for Lyndon in this time of transition.”

The VSC Board of Trustees will discuss permanent leadership at their annual meeting on July 21 for Atkins will only hold the interim president position until July 30, 2017.

With Atkins becoming the interim president, the position of academic dean is the next administrative position that will need to be filled.
